A Limerick of Tears

My life is my writing
I live in my words
My hurting heart bleeding
From all I have heard

Timeless my moments
Forever I wait
Sincerely denying
My loving to hate

Such laughter in childhood
In adolescence much pain
The adult left crying
Again and again

Too often no answers
Many questions arise
Resolution ever questing
Finding tears inside

  In the mirror a stranger
Daily drawing the smile
An emotional blue print
The lines wander for miles

Clouded my face
My eyes, dusty with mist
A shimmering darkness
The scorpion’s kiss

 Would I ever remember?
The impossible to know
Taunting travels to nowhere
Still I anguish to go

Surely, one day I’ll listen
Somehow, maybe I’ll hear
The illusionist crying
A limerick of tears
