White Turtle

On a beach
Strange to sight
A tiny Turtle
The color white

Days in water
Nights on land
Bathed in moonlight
Dug in sand

Without family friends
Mate by its side
Lonely and sad
Its hurt it would hide

Teasing and taunting
From others it got
Other turtles knew
Like them it was not

Heartbroken: One day
It turned to the sea
Searching it said
For others like me

Deeper it swam
To the depths below
Realizing suddenly
No place to go

Tired and worn
To land it returned
Embittered it wailed
“From life I am spurned.”

Crying and crying
It died in the night
Its snowy sad tears
Made beaches white
